How to Have Fun in a Civil War
In a captivating refugee story of resilience, Mansour revisits her childhood memories of the 1991 Somali Civil War. Layering poetry, puppetry, video and interviews, she confronts violent history with humor.

This production contains simulated gunshot sounds.

The Guthrie’s first-ever Solo Emerging Artist Celebration features three groundreaking local artists— Antonio Duke, A.P. Looze and Ifrah Mansour — performing solo pieces in repertory.

A discussion about the show will immediately follow the performance.
