Do you wish to strengthen and open up your voice? To discover "new voices" and explore different vocal archetypes? Centered within a theatrical context, this two-day workshop will explore the deep humanity and rich possibilities of your voice utilizing the methods of the Roy Hart Theatre. The Roy Hart Technique searches for the strongest links between the voice, body and imagination and begins the process of reconnecting with the deep body sources of each voice. By employing the many resonators in the human body, a fuller and richer range of sound and emotion can be tapped. This work takes the actor/singer/speaker into a different experience of what their voice can be.
The workshop will feature:
Physical work designed to deepen body/breath connection and awaken the body to give voice
Specific approaches to extend vocal range, color and timbre
Vocal archetypes
Vocal/physical improvisations to inspire the imagination and release the voice
Whether you use your voice as a professional actor, singer, teacher, public speaker, writer, or for the pure joy of vocal expression, you will emerge from the workshop with new resources to enrich your practice and deepen your performance skills. Please bring water & dress in clothing which allows you to move & breathe! No prerequisite, ages 18+, capacity: 12 students.
Prerequisites: Explore and Create level classes, or previous performing experience, Ages 18+. Capacity: 12
